P. Diddy commends Falz on his latest video.

Nigeria’s music is without any atom of doubt, definitely on a highway to world recognition and we have to applaud our artist and producers for putting Nigeria’s music on the world map. Whether it is an original content, a feature or a make over, Nigerian artist are definitely killing it worldwide.

This talents in the Nigeria music industry have placed it’s music at the very top in the continent and international artist like Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Nicki minaj and other music icon have attested to the fact that Nigeria music talents are hard to come by. The latest to attest to that fact is American rapper, businessman and owner of Revolt Tv, Puff Daddy, professionally known as P Diddy.

The rapper who currently sits on the number two (NO.2) position as the richest musician in the world just behind fellow rapper Shawn Carter, professionally known as Jay-Z, was full of praise for Nigerian rapper, Falz. Falz did a cover or something like a remix for “This is America” and he changed the title to “This is Nigeria”.

The music, "This is America" was done by popular American rapper Childish Gambino. The video of the song went viral and since its release, other artist and content creators made a parody of the video, and Falz was among those who did a cover of the video.

Childish Gambino did the song as he reflects on some of the issues affecting America. In the video the rapper talked about gun violence among school kids because recently in the country, lot of school kids have lost their lives due to gun violence and other nuisance attacks on innocent citizens in the country.

The video top the charts for weeks and its currently still on the top three latest trending video in America right now.

Knowing fully well the power of the message the music portrays, Nigerian rapper Falzthebahdguy, did a cover of the music video as he also talked about the many societal challenges facing the country.
Falz released the video cover in the late hours of Friday.

Ever since the video dropped, it has received widespread acclaim and also some people criticizes the concept mostly because it wasn’t original even though the rapper was passing a vital message.

As the video continue to go viral, it caught the attention of the superstar rapper who commend Falz for his effort on the song. He posted a short video clip from the one Falz did and he captioned it “Nigeria LETS GO!”

On the song, Falz addressed the recent societal issues that has taken its toll in the Country for the past few months.

On the song, Falz raps about the recent atrocities committed by the Fulani herdsmen in the country, drug abuse and codeine epidemic among Nigerian youth, the anti-robbery squad (SARS), internet fraud locally recognized as ‘yahoo boys’ and the abduction of innocent school girls in Dapchi, Northern Nigeria.

These issues have been a pin in the flesh for a lot of Nigerian youth who have been wrongly accused, arrested and beaten by the anti-robbery squad (SARS) and other issues like the herdsmen killings in the country.

Wizkid shuts down the 02 Arena for his show. (see details)

Nigeria’s superstar musician icon, Ayo Balogun professionally known as Wizkid, shuts down the 02 Arena over the weekend or his “Afro Republik” music concert. The superstar musician raised the roof with his performances and that of other artist as he performed in the sold concert of over twenty thousand people (20,000) at the 02 Arena on Saturday the 26th of may.

Wizkid, after selling out the Royal Albert Hall in London England  last year, the superstar artist promised after the show that he will sell out the iconic 02 Arena this year, and with just barely seven months later, Wizkid lived up to his word and he sold out the 02 Arena as an estimated twenty thousand fans turned up for his concert on Saturday.

The superstar music icon has definitely inked down history with his record breaking sold out concert on Saturday as he continues to cement his name in the history books of Nigerian pop stars with his performance at the Afro Republik concert on Saturday.

The 02 Arena is located in London England and it was the first time a Nigerian pop artist sold it out days before the show.

The Afro Republik music concert was his first  major international performance this year and concert was preceded by performances from other music acts like Tiwa Savage, Tekno, Maleek Berry, MR Eazi, Yxng Bane who brought Kojo Funds on stage and  Not3s.

Tekno gave the fans a memorable night as he performed some of his hit songs like Pana, Diana, Duro and his hit song which he featured Wizkid, “Mama”. The “Alhaji” as he preferred to be called was not short of great things last night as he  produced an energetic performance to the delight of over twenty thousand people who turned up on the show.

African Diva, Tiwa Savage also gave an electrifying performance as she was brought out by Wizkid. The superstars both perform their hit song “Malo” which was released last year December. The queen diva also performed some of her hit songs like “Over” and other hit jams.

Mr Eazi performed his just released single hit song “London Town”. Mr Eazi performed the wavy jam alongside UK rapper, Giggs as they both produced an electrifying performance to the delight of over twenty thousand fans at the 02 Arena on Saturday.
Maleek Berry also took the stage as he performed some of his hit songs and also his latest single, “For Your Mind”.
Yxng Bane brought out Kojo Funds as they both performed together on stage.
But the night belonged to the star of the concert, Wizkid. The superstar was not short of great things on that night of the show as he brought the fans at the 02 Arena to a stand still.

Wizkid is definitely bound for great things as he has been pulling the crowd in  his shows lately. He also have been given international recognition as he was invited to perform at the American biggest music concert “Coachchella” but couldn’t make it to the concert due to issues with his passport. But Wizkid has bounced back from that disappointment as he produced some hit jams like “Soco” ”Manya” and “Commando”. He also featured international  rappers like Drake, Ty Dollar Sign and other successful rappers in the music industry.

The certainly is an historic night not only for Wizkid but also for the Nigeria Music Industry and also for Africa.

Davido signs a new artiste to his label.

Davido has signed another artiste today to his record label, “Davido Music World".  The talented superstar broke the news on his Instagram handle in the late hours of yesterday.
The newly signed artiste goes by the name “Idowest” is the latest artist to be signed into the record label.

Not a lot can be said of the artiste just yet but we can be rest assured that to be on Davido’s team, one has to be musically talented. Davido without any doubt, has a high taste for music and he has been doing great music lately and apart from him, other members of his label have also been topping the chart in the Nigerian music industry.

His most successful artiste is the “Mama” crooner, Mayorkun. Mayorkun has impress in the eyes of many since he was signed to Davido’s label in 2014.

The artiste won the award for the “Next Rated” artiste at The Headies award two weeks ago. He performed alongside Wizkid in Wizkid’s music concert last year December.

Mayorkun have been successful since he was discovered by Davido and has made a lot of progress in his music career since he came on the spot light four years ago and every other artiste signed under Davido’s label will be looking forward to emulate him.

Davido however, have been on the news lately as he performed in an overflow concert in Suriname, South America. Davido expressed his happiness and that he was shocked and surprised that the people there knows his music as they sang it word for word. Communicating through his Instagram handle, Davido explained that when he got the invitation from the organizers to come and perform in Suriname, he wondered if the people there knew him and that he was scared because he thought none of them would understand his music but to his greatest surprise they sang his song word for word and didn’t even give him the chance to sing.

He admitted that it was an emotional night for him and that he is still in shock. He thanked the people of Suriname for their hospitality.

In celebration of his fame, he signed this new artiste to his record label.
Davido now have more artiste signed under him than any other artist who owned a record label in Nigeria.
The likes of Mayorkun, Perruzi, Dammy Krane, Efe, Djecool and the latest signee Idowest are all signed to Davido’s record label.

Davido said in an interview last year that he hope to bring in more upcoming artiste in the coming years because he appreciates talent and he wants to see young artiste coming into the music industry to proved their worth. He also said that he if at any point an artist feels it’s time to move on and start things his their own, he’ll allow him.

Davido was on the news last month as he surprised his girlfriend “Chioma” with a 45 million naira Porsche on her birthday.

Davido also did a song titled “Assurance” which he dedicated to her. He released the video of the song on the day of her birthday and the video got a staggering “Three Million Views” the first day it was released.
Davido have told his fans not to sleep on him as he will release his album in the coming months.

Wizkid sold out the London 02 Arena ahead of his music concert. (see details)

Not many top musicians in Africa have had a sold out show which they’ve organized  across the African border, but Nigeria’s very own Ayo Balogun, professionally known as Wizkid or preferably as he would liked to be call, Starboy is actually making Africa proud as he becomes one of the very few artist to sell out the London 02 arena for his music concert, AFRO REPUBLIK.

Wizkid puts the show together with the main aim of projecting African and Nigeria music to the world and to actually take our culture and values across the borders of the continent so that people can actually understand that Africa has a lot in store.

The music concert title which he named Afro Republik, is fairly related to the times of the great Fela, the Nigerian Afro Pop legend who Wizkid said was a great influence on him and his music. The ideas of the arts and design of the musical concert were not far fetched from the ones Fela did during his years on stage. 

Afro is one of the music style that Fela innovated through his magical ideas and even after his death, his legacy still plays a key roles in the music industry today as the likes of Wizkid still refer to him as the greatest influence that changed and set a new pace for today’s music.
Afro Republik was put together by Wizkid as he continues to expands his horizon throughout the world. Wizkid won’t be performing on the show all by himself as he has invited six other musician from Nigeria to join  him celebrate the success of the Nigerian style. 

Among the six musicians that were invited by Wizkid to perform alongside him in the show is Tiwa Savage. 
The African Rihanna as she is fondly called by her fans, will be bringing on the heat as she performs for the first time in the London 02 arena. The “MALO” crooner will be widely expected by her fans to perform some of her hits songs as she cements her name as one of the greatest female artist in Africa and in Nigeria. 

Apart from Tiwa Savage, Wizkid also invited MR Eazi to perform at the arena with him. Mr Eazi who is currently signed to Wizkid’s Starboy record label, has gained popularity in the music industry with his famous hit song “Legover”. 

The song which Wizkid appeared surprisingly in the video. Mr Eazi is also familiar with the Ghanian people because he schooled their and so, a lot of his fans in Ghana will be in attendance at the 02 arena to watch their superstar perform. 

Tekno was also invited to the concert to perform alongside Wizkid in London.
The “Diana” crooner wouldn’t have been left out of the show by Wizkid because he has been on fire lately in the music industry. He’s gone from writing his own songs to producing his own song and Tekno didn’t slack a bit. He produced Davido’s award winning song “Fall” and also produced his hit song “Pana”. 

Tekno has been much on the rise since last year and he seems not to be slowing down a bit. Tekno did a song with Wizkid “Mama” last year. The song went viral as Tekno co-produced the song with other producers. The music bond between these two is energetic and the fans at the 02 Arena will feel the heat on stage.

The other three music artiste that will be headlining the show are Maleek Berry, Not3s and Yxng Bane. 
Maleek Berry has taken a break from producing and he is establishing himself a bit more in the music industry. He’s released some hit song like “For my mind”, and the song really gave him audience with a lot of people admitting that they never knew he was that good in music but he seems Maleek just 
wanted to take everyone by surprise.

Wizkid didn’t invited any international artist as most fans were expecting that he’ll invite few of the international artist he have worked with but certainly, Wizkid is doing this for the culture. 

The Afro Republik indoor music festival will be hosted by Eddie Kadi and it will be held in the famous London 02 Arena on the 26th of May 2018 which is apparently two days from today.

New Music! DJ Big N featuring Don Jazzy and Kiss Daniel - "My Dear".

Too many DJs  are rising up to the music scene by featuring artists these days and DJ Big N who is signed to Don Jazzy's Mavin Record, is one of those DJs who are taking a shot at stardom,  following in the footsteps of popular DJs like DJ Jimmy Jatt, DJ Exclusive and other DJs who are now in the front roll in the Music Industry.  The Mavin Record DJ,  is among those currently leading the music chart with a couple of solid singles so far.

His latest single that is currently making waves in the country right now is his freshest release, which he titled, "My Dear".

DJ Big N is not alone in this single, he featured two big names in the Music Industry, Don Jazzy and Kiss Daniel.

The song was not short of expectations as the collaboration of the genius of Don Jazzy and the brilliance of Kiss Daniel, brought out the beast in the track.

New Music! Phyno featuring Olamide - "ONYEOMA".

Every single music that these two indigenous rappers have done together, have always been a hit.  From "Ghost Mode" to "Augment", just to mention a few,  have been well appreciated by music lovers all over the country.

The rappers are out with this latest joint titled  “Onyeoma” as Phyno featured his brother from another mother, Olamide.

The chemistry between these rappers, is what have made them become one of the indomitable indigenous rappers.

Phyno has just released the visuals of the song featuring Olamide. The video demonstrate the binding relationship between fans & their favourite musician on social media.

The leader of the 30Billion gang and CEO OF Davido Music Worldwide, has dropped a new banger titled, “African Girl”.

The superstar who won "Artist of the year award" at the headies awards last week, seems not to be slowing down at all.

While we are still trying to take several sit after dancing to his song his previous single “Assurance” which he dedicated to his girlfriend Chioma, the music star has Just release another one which he title's “African Girl”.

The song produce by Young John, is a fresh single from Davido.
Apart from doing music, Davido have been on the news as he publicly expressed his love for his newly found love, "Chioma".

The 30Billion gang leader, lavishly showered his love on his girlfriend as she celebrated her 23rd Birthday.  He bought her a 45 million naira Porsche as a gift on her birthday. That wasn't all, Davido also did a song for her which he titled "ASSURANCE". He released the song in a video on the day Chioma celebrated her birthday. The video featured Chioma as she danced in celebration of Davido's Assurance.

Despite having babymama's and children on the side, it didn't stopped Davido from falling so hard in love with Chioma.
The two have been pictured together in almost every location.

Video alert!! - Duncan Mighty ft Wizkid - Fake love.

The long awaited video is out now as both Duncan Mighty and starboy Wizkid takes their turn as they sing on the new music video with the song titled "Fake Love".

The video was shot and directed by one of Nigeria's most talented music video producer, Clarence Peters!.

Duncan Mighty broke the news to his fans on an Instagram post as he posted a one minute clip of the video. This is the first collaboration between the two musician and it wasn't short of it's expectation.

Wizkid has been dropping some song lately and his first for the year was "SOCO". The song was a hit as it was been played in every nook of the country and also over the continent. He also dropped "Commando" featuring DJ Mut4y and he did an international collaboration with American rapper,  TY dollar Sign.

He also went on dropping new hit as he was featured on Olamide's "Zombie". Wizkid dropped a few songs and was also featured by few artiste, towards the ending of last year. He did "Manya" with DJ Mut4y,  he was featured by Tiwa Savage on "Malo" before the ending of the year 2017 and he also featured on American rapper, Jerzy's,  album. Wizkid  has been gaining international recognition due to his recent collaboration with the likes of Drake, DJ Khaled, Chris Brown, TY Dollar Sign and a few others. These collaboration also gave him a chance to show case his talent to the world as he was scheduled to perform in America's biggest music festival "Coachella". Though he couldn't make it to the festival due to issues with his passports.
He expressed his frustration on Twitter as he even threatened to fire all members of his team.

Duncan Mighty is trying to crawl his way back to the Music Industry because lately, he haven't been on the news. The "Port Harcourt boy" crooner will be hoping that with this collaboration, things will get back on track for him.

Simi is a thief.. Dr Victor Uwaifo blast Simi for reproducing his song without his consent.

Legendary and popular Nigerian Musician, Dr. Victor Uwaifo, accuses singer Simi,for “stealing” his intellectual property and hit song from way back, ‘Joromi’ and reproducing the song without following due process or even contacting him.
Dr. Uwaifo who released the hit song ‘Joromi’ way back in 1969 says the song, which brought him worldwide recognition and fortune, has now become a victim of intellectual property theft as Simi didn't appreciate him been the real owner of the property or to give credit to him when she released her own version in 2017 which won her the Best Recording of the Year 2017  at the 12 edition of the Headies awards which was held days ago.
During an interview with Sahara Reporters at the Annual General Meeting of Copyright Society of Nigeria COSON, held at Sheraton Hotels, Ikeja, Lagos, the legendary singer, Dr. Victor Uwaifo described copyright and Intellectual property theft as a very serious issue in Nigeria, that have not been taken as serious as it should be as nowadays people can reproduce other peoples intellectual property and nothing will happen to them, saying property intellectual theft  must be dealt with urgently as it is reducing the creativity of the new generation of Musicians.

According to him, the process of making music has changed dramatically  from what it used to be in his time, as “more mediocres” are now in the game.
He said:
“Copyright is a very serious business and the contravention of copyright laws is more serious than you can imagine,” the Professor of Art told to SaharaReporters. People still believe that someone can just pick somebody’s work, which we call intellectual property right, and use it for his own benefit of the detriment of the composer, the man who actually created the work.
It takes a lot of time and someone with high creativity to create a work that is worth copying or worth republishing after years since it was first done. It takes a lot of research to be able to come out with a piece of work. You know one single track is equivalent to research journal and then a whole record is equivalent to a book publication, so most people don’t understand the dynamics of these things, they don’t know. You don’t just wake up in the university then you just write anything down and you call it a journal or a book. It takes a lot of research to be able to do one piece of music. The composition, the lyrics, the music, the score, the arrangement, the production, producers and backup singers and booking of the studio all cost money, and someone will just come and take the work and use it as their own or probably do an advert on it.”
Uwaifo recalled how he sued soft drinks giant, Pepsi for N500million for using one of his songs for advertising one of their product without following the due process. “Pepsi used my song ‘Arabade,’” he said.
“I’m suing Pepsi for N500million; the case is already at the Federal High Court in Benin.” When asked if he was going to take any legal action against Simi, he replied: “One after the other. I cannot just take everybody to court at the same time.
An LP was sent as a compliment; I’m still looking at it but they were planning to come to Benin to see me; up till now, they haven’t showed up , so I’m just putting that one on hold. ‘Joromi’ is a franchise; the name never existed before I did it. The Benin people don’t have “J” in their language; if anything started with ‘J’ in Benin then it is fake. All consonant words start with vowel sounds. Let's say for instance , if I use the trademark of one of these soft drinks without their permission, it is wrong and illegal . So what Simi did isn't right, she didn't even contacted me through any means whatsoever, she just did the whole thing without my consent. I have decided to take legal actions against her and her manager.”

Davido celebrates the two year anniversary of his DMW label.

Nigeria music sensation, Davido, is celebrating the 2nd anniversary of his Davido Music Wordwide (DMW) record label.

The superstar musical artist shared the news on his Instagram handle as he tagged all 17 artist including his music producers who have given more fame to the label through their hard work.

Mayorkun is the most popular artist in the label following his back to back hits song ever since he was discovered by Davido two years ago.

Davido and Mayorkun dropped a new song "BoBo" in march, and it has reached a million views on YouTube since the visuals of the song were released.

The whole DMW act did a sing "Answer Prayer" in 2017 and that song topped the charts for weeks which goes a long way to explain the debts in talent the record label have.

Apart from the joint project Davido has been doing with Mayorkun, Davido has also featured the likes of DJ Ecool and a few of other artist in his song.

But lately, he has been dropping lots of song with no features.

His song "Fall" went viral and drew attention from international listeners. He mentioned Real Madrid star man's name "Ronaldo"in the track and the the legendary footballer followed him in Instagram.

He was invited by Goal.com for an interview in England to talk more on his relationship with the football icon. In the interview, Davido said he plans to do a video with him soon though he hasn't met him in person due to his busy schedules.

He bagged three awards at the sound city award night in December 2017 and also won an award at the MOBO awards in the same year. Last year, American female rap sensation, Cardi B said in a tweet to Davido after the awards that she's a fan of his music.

Davido squashed his long beef with fellow Nigeria superstar, Wizkid, last year as he first performed in Wizkid's show, then Wizkid also performed in Davido's 30billion final tour in Lagos.

Davido has taken a break from his African tour as he his set to perform in Winnipeg Canada on the 8th of April.

Music collaboration alert!! Olamide x Wizkid is on the way.

Olamide might have just announced a new collaboration with Wizkid.


Olamide posted a photo of wizkid in the studio on his instagram page with the caption " Wiz came to bless some beat for me".

If indeed it's a collaboration, then we are in for another party vibe.

Olamide in the past have done few collaborations with Wizkid and none of it has fallen short of expectations.

Wizkid dropped a new song last week "Soco" which he featured a few upcoming talents like newly signed Terri_ryn, who was signed to Wizkid's Starboy records.

Olamide also dropped "C. Ronaldo" few weeks back.

Omawumi announced earlier that she's done with her joint project with Kiss Daniel on her latest song "Me Ke".

Mayorkun is dropping a new song featuring Davido.

One of Davido's super banging artiste, Mayorkun aka Mayor of Lagos, has announced that he'll be dropping another banger titled 'BOBO' on Monday.

The singer broke the news to his followers on instagram.

He said he'll be dropping the audio and the video on Monday, but the song is currently available for pre-order on iTunes.

Popular rapper, Olamide, propose to his long time girlfriend and babymama.

YBNL bosss, Olamide Adedeji aka Olamide, has finally decided to put ring to finger as he announced that he'll be getting married to his longtime partner.

The rapper proposed to his long-time partner, Adebukunmi Suleiman, on her birthday, last week Thursday.

Olamide shared the news on his Snapchat account. She is also the only woman who has a child for the rapper and they've been together before the rapper came into limelight.

They have a son together, Milano, in 2016.

Bunkumi and Olamide allegedly began dating from the beginning of his music career way back in 2014. Quite private, very little is known about the bride-to-be.

Tiwa Savage features Omarion in her latest song 'Get it Now'.

African Rihanna as she's fondly called by many, announced a recent collaboration with  American artiste, Omarion in remix of her lateest song “Get it Now”, taken off her recent “Sugar Cane” Extended Play (EP).

Omarion, a Grammy Award nominee and BET award winner best known as lead singer of the American RnB boy band “B2K”.

The singer, songwriter, actor and dancer, got major recognition in 2015 as his hit song “Post To Be” was certified three times platinum and reached number 13 on the Hot 100 chart.

Tiwa Savage announced the release of the collaboration on Friday through her Instagram handle @tiwasavage.

She shred the art cover of the song, eulogising Omarion, Tiwa Savage wrote: “Distance is
constant on my playlist. Now, I got to do a song  with the INCREDIBLE @1omarion.

“If you like ‘Get It Now’, you will love the remix featuring Omarion. It is out now, link in my bio. Let’s get the world ‘savage soldiers.”

The ‘ ALL OVER’ crooner who recently released the visuals for the song ‘Get it Now’ had dropped hints about the collaboration in January, when she posted a picture of herself and Omarion on Twitter.

Popular Nigerian musician, Oladapo Oyabanjo, professionally known as D'banj, blast most Nigerian record label owners as ilitrates who knows nothing about music and the industry.

The mega star who was on a panel discussing the topic, 'Changing The Game: Artistes As Leaders' at the ongoing Social Media Week Lagos, said most of the new artiste and record labels in Nigeria were founded by internet fraudsters, popularly known as 'Yahoo'boys.

Talking on the challenges confronting the Music industry, D'banj also added that most Nigerian artistes lack capacity building and proper orientation about the concepts of music.

" A lot of record label these days are founded and owned by Yahoo boys. You must first understand the reason why you want to do music.why do you want to participate in music.You must have an idea and most importantly the talent for it. Nigerian artiste need a lot of capacity building. It is only in Nigeria that the owner of the record label doesn't have an inkling not even an idea about music."

D'banj explained that the reason why he ventured into music was because of the fear of being poor.

Despite throwing shades at some artistes in the industry, the singer also encouraged young and upcoming artistes on building their brand.

According to D'banj, building a brand is not as rosy as you think, it takes hard work and deliberate effort to archieve that aim.

" Just like any marketable product, you must always evolve, you have to be very creative so you won't be left behind. The fear of being poor made me think outside the box. This is one of the factors that
brought me into the industry,"he said.

His fans nick named him "BIG FISH" D'banj said he is ready to swim in the digital ocean where he believes the future lies.

He encouraged business owners and investors to invest in the Nigerian music industry through collaborations and partnership.

D'banj was formally signed to US rapper "Kanye West" record label, and has done music with international stars like Snoop Dogg.
