P. Diddy commends Falz on his latest video.
Nigeria’s music is without any atom of doubt, definitely on a highway to world recognition and we have to applaud our artist and producers for putting Nigeria’s music on the world map. Whether it is an original content, a feature or a make over, Nigerian artist are definitely killing it worldwide.
This talents in the Nigeria music industry have placed it’s music at the very top in the continent and international artist like Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Nicki minaj and other music icon have attested to the fact that Nigeria music talents are hard to come by. The latest to attest to that fact is American rapper, businessman and owner of Revolt Tv, Puff Daddy, professionally known as P Diddy.
The rapper who currently sits on the number two (NO.2) position as the richest musician in the world just behind fellow rapper Shawn Carter, professionally known as Jay-Z, was full of praise for Nigerian rapper, Falz. Falz did a cover or something like a remix for “This is America” and he changed the title to “This is Nigeria”.
The music, "This is America" was done by popular American rapper Childish Gambino. The video of the song went viral and since its release, other artist and content creators made a parody of the video, and Falz was among those who did a cover of the video.
Childish Gambino did the song as he reflects on some of the issues affecting America. In the video the rapper talked about gun violence among school kids because recently in the country, lot of school kids have lost their lives due to gun violence and other nuisance attacks on innocent citizens in the country.
The video top the charts for weeks and its currently still on the top three latest trending video in America right now.
Knowing fully well the power of the message the music portrays, Nigerian rapper Falzthebahdguy, did a cover of the music video as he also talked about the many societal challenges facing the country.
Falz released the video cover in the late hours of Friday.
Ever since the video dropped, it has received widespread acclaim and also some people criticizes the concept mostly because it wasn’t original even though the rapper was passing a vital message.
As the video continue to go viral, it caught the attention of the superstar rapper who commend Falz for his effort on the song. He posted a short video clip from the one Falz did and he captioned it “Nigeria LETS GO!”
On the song, Falz addressed the recent societal issues that has taken its toll in the Country for the past few months.
On the song, Falz raps about the recent atrocities committed by the Fulani herdsmen in the country, drug abuse and codeine epidemic among Nigerian youth, the anti-robbery squad (SARS), internet fraud locally recognized as ‘yahoo boys’ and the abduction of innocent school girls in Dapchi, Northern Nigeria.
These issues have been a pin in the flesh for a lot of Nigerian youth who have been wrongly accused, arrested and beaten by the anti-robbery squad (SARS) and other issues like the herdsmen killings in the country.
