Actress Laverne Cox becomes the first transgender to be on the cover of cosmopolitan magazine.

Transgender actress Laverne cox is will be on the cover for the February 2018 issue of Cosmopolitan magazine. It'll be the first time that a transgender person is on the cover of the magazine.

The actress shared her excitement on becoming the first transgender in history to be on the cover of the magazine, she posted in instagram saying " I am so honored and happy to cover the February issue of @Cosmopolitansa"

Cosmopolitan SA also shared the cover with the caption:

"Say WHAT? #SayYesToLove And this month's issue is filled with love, In this South Africa exclusive @laverncoxstars as COSMO'S first ever openly trans cover girl! Ain't l a woman? Yes you are and we love you.

In the magazine, laverne cox says, "As a black transgender woman, I've often been kept a secret by the that I've been in a relationship with " she said.

"So when my ex-boyfriend introduced me to his dad and invited me to spend Hanukkah with him and his family, it was a special feeling for me, one i haven't felt in years. Trans women deserve to be loved out in the dark and in the light."
