Forbes released the ranking of the highest paid sportsmen in 2018 and boxxing legend, Floyd Mayweather tops the list as he earns a staggeering $285 million. Thanks to his success in boxing, the undefeated boxing champion, earns higher than any other athlete.

Forbes reported that the 41-year-old tops th echart after raking up $285 million dollars from his cross-combat superfight against Conor McGregor in August 2017.

Mayweather also made $10 million in his endorsements deals which made him earned a total of $285 million between June 1 2017 and June 1 2018. He sits comfortably in the first spot, eclipsing second-placed athlete, football star Lionel messi, who earned $111 million.

Floyd Mayweather's opponent in the cross-combact match, Conor McGregor, moved to the number 4 position in the chart, thanks to his $85 million cut off Mayweather's purse after the match.

He also made $14million in endorsement deals, which took the Irish fighter's earning to $99 million,as he falls behind Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo who sits in the third position with earnings of $108 million.

Brazillian super star and Paris Saint German star man, Neymar was fifth on the chart with $90 million. His salary was topped following his record transfer from Barcelona to PSG last summer.

Basketball star, Lebron James is the highest paid basketballer on the list, coming in at the sixth position with a total of $85.5 million, just ahead of men's tennis champion, Roger Federer, who earns $77.2 million.

$65 million of Federer's earning, were from endorsement deals.

Golden State warriors star, Stephen Curry was the only reprenentative from the NBA in the top ten,with earnings of $76.9 million.

NFL player, Matt Ryan come in the ninth position with a total of $67.3 million. His earning hit the high by a $45 million dollar signing of bonus after he agreed a new contract earlier this year.

Another NFL quaterback, Matthew Stafford rounded off the top 10 with $59.5 million
