Manchester City's Leroy Sane has been dropped from Germany's World Cup squad
Manchester City forward, Leroy Sane have been given the shock of a lifetime as he was dropped from the Germany World cup squad by the head coach.
The reigning champions made the shocking decision of not including him in the final 23 man squad that will represent Germany in Russia in ten days time.
Even though he was impressive throughout the season with Manchester City which saw him claim the Premier League and Carabo Cup, the 22-year old was not good enough to feature for the German national side.
Sane scored 14 last season during a record breaking season. He also provided 17 assists across England’s top flight and the Champions League.
He will not represent his country in Russia this summer after being excluded from the squad.
Sane also turned down the chances for playing for Senegal and opted to represent his mother's country but he's been left disappointed with the news of not making the squad.
The likes of Julian Draxler and Sebastian Rudy were favoured ahead of Leroy Sane for the world cup spot.
Mesut Ozil was called up alongside Chelsea’s defender Antonio Rudiger.
Sane’s Manchester City teammate , Ilkay Gundogan, was also included alongside Manchester United target, Timo Werner of RB Leipzig.
Bayern Munich goalkeeper, Manuel Neur gets the okay to join the squad despite his recent injury struggles, while Borussia Dortmund forward, Marco Reus will get the chance to put his fitness issues behind him with the 29-year-old having missed out on the tournament 4-years ago.
The World champions open their World Cup campaign on the 17th of June against Mexico before going on to face Sweden and South Korea in the remaining group fixtures.
