Tragedy struck in Benue state as Fulani herdsmen killed over 70 Benue state indigenes on New year day and January sixth respectively.

The incident which has been described as a terror attack, took the life of innocent Nigerians who were already celebrating the new year.

The indigenes who were killed by the Fulani herdsman, arrived the IBB square, Makurdi for a mass burial.

Present at the occasion were Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom; his deputy, Engr Benson Abounu, APC national chairman, John Odigie Oyegun, Senators George Akume, Barnabas Gemade, Philip Dunka Nasarawa North, Segun Oni, Gen. Lawrence Onoja, Prof Jerry Agada and others.

The recent attacks by the Fulani herdsman on innocent Nigerians has been described by many as a deliberate act to destabilize national peace and security.
