Chelsea emerge victorious against Manchester United in the FA Cup final.


Chelsea Football Club ended the season on a high as they finally secured their first silverware of the season. The blues who were looking for some sought of redemption to crown their effort all season finally got something to cheer about as the players head into the 2018 World cup to represent their countries.

The Londoners locked horn with the Red Devil’s yesterday as the final winner of the English Fa Cup was decided. Both Manchester United and Chelsea were looking forward for the final game to savor their season as they’re both went trophyless until yesterday’s final game.

Chelsea’s boss, Antonio Conte said in a pre-match conference that the game is very important for both teams and that he already have the experience of facing Jose Mourinho’s team as they have both played against each other this season.
He also added that his men are well prepared for the match and that they will give everything before the blast of the final whistle.

Manchester United coach, Jose Mourinho also said in a pre-match conference that he is looking forward to the game and that he believes his side will fancy their chances of beating the London side in Wembley.


MATCH IN SUMMARY.
Jose Mourinho made some questionable changes to his starting eleven which might have cost them dearly. The Portuguese manager started an unfit Phil Jones ahead of Bailey and Lindelof.
 That was the only changes at the back as both Alexis Sanchez, Lukaku, Pogba and Valencia were all in the starting line up for the game. Antonio Conte started with his first eleven as the likes of N’golo Kante, Azpilicueta, Alonso and Victor Moses all started.

Into the first 45 minute,the possession was shared as both side kept pressing towards both ends of the field in search of the first goal. Manchester United pressed forward as Sanchez keep pushing the ball forward to Lukaku who’s effort was forced wide by the keeper. 
Eden Hazard open the scoring for the Londoners in the 20th minute through a penalty. The Belgian winger slot home from the spot kick to give Antonio Conte’s men the lead in just 20 minutes into the game. Manchester United pressed forward as they threw more bodies to the attack in search of an equalizer but all effort made were futile.

The second 45 minutes began and it was Manchester United who pressed more  in search of an leveler. Jose Mourinho’s men controlled the passing fluently as Chelsea were defending their lead. The red devil’s would have been behind by two goals as Eden Hazard started a ruthless counter with Willian and Marcos Alonso but their effort was punched over the bar.

The blues continued showing their defending prowess as they lurk in the wing hoping for a counter to punish The Red Devil’s. Azpilicueta was a torn in the opposition’s flesh as he bravely defended the attacks made by Jose Mourinho’s men. At the other end, it was Phil Jones who was causing problems for his own side as he made a couple of defending blunder which would have seen Chelsea wrapped the game off in the early minutes of the second half. The defender was responsible for some of defensive errors which would have extended the blues lead in the game.

As the game approaches the final minutes, the Red Devil’s continued to press and commit more men forward in search of a late equalizer but Antonio Conte’s men were up to the task as they mount a defensive wall in the 18 yard box which saw out the game the final whistle was blown. It was Chelsea who secured the trophy after the lead in the first half through Eden Hazard’s penalty in the 20th minute.

Jose Mourinho’s men  lost the only chance of a silverware this season.
After the game, Chelsea’s boss Antonio Conte expressed his joy on how his boys fended off all attacking threat right from the 21st minute of the game. According to the manager, his side the better side in the first half but his opponent were able to dominate the game in the second half. 

Jose Mourinho expressed his utmost dissatisfaction in his side’s lost to Chelsea. The manger however said that it is this kind of game that he’ll like to loose. 
The manager who is known for always blaming everyone except his own self after every defeat, was short of accusation and still refuse to take responsibility for his side’s lost. The manager included an unfit Phil Jones in his starting line up in a final match ahead of an experience and fit Eric Bailey must have plot the defeat with his own hands as Phil Jones fitness problem’s was evident in the game. Mourinho did not  emphasis on his starting eleven after his side lost to a struggling Chelsea even when they are questionable.

Chelsea however wouldn’t be too proud of their achievement as they have fallen short in the league. The blues will play no part in the UEFA Champions League next season as they could only manage to end their campaign in the fifth position with Arsenal sitting comfortably in the sixth position. Both Chelsea and Arsenal were relegated to the Europa league.

Manchester United finished second in the league and they will play a part in next season UEFA Champions league. The FA Cup final win was more of a redemption win for the blues as they have fallen below their normal expectation. 
The London team head into the season break with the FA Cup trophy as a consolation price for one of their worst run of performance in years.

Manchester United have a lot on their plate as the coach, Jose Mourinho just signed a two year deal with the club, binding him with the Red Devils until 2021. The coach has made plan to overhaul some of the players as the likes of Anthony Martial are already on the verge of exiting the club at the end of the season. 

Jose Mourinho and the Manchester United fans will be looking for a better campaign next season as they plan on improving the depth of their current squad by bringing new players to compete in Theatre Of Dreams.
